Photo courtesy of CPSC.gov.More than 400,000 Dorel infant car seats are recalled because the carrier handle can loosen and detach, which could allow a baby to fall. The company has received 77 reports of the handle coming off, and at least three babies were injured.
This recall covers Dorel infant car seats from Cosco, Safety 1st, Eddie Bauer and Disney brands that were manufactured from Jan. 6, 2008 to Apr. 6, 2009. Visit the CPSC Dorel infant car seat recall page for the complete list of model numbers affected.
The recall affects the infant car seats when they’re used as carriers only. They are still safe to use in the car. If the infant car seat was sold as a travel system, with a stroller, the stroller is not included in the recall.
If your baby’s car seat is included in this recall, you can call 866-762-3316 or visit djusa.com/safetynotice to receive a repair kit. You should not use the infant car seat handle to carry the car seat until the repair kit is installed.
